The Cannes International Film Festival, is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from around the world. The festival is scheduled to held later this year.

This year also marks the 100th year of Indian cinema.

Last year, the French government gave Aishwarya Rai a civilian award for her contributions to the arts.

In an interview, she said, “I don’t feel fear, rather there is a lot of anger and I don’t hesitate to say this. Many of us are privileged to have a lot of assurance about our safety but most of the women in our country do not have that.”

The Bachchan family had recently raised Rs 2.5 million for Plan India’s Girl Child campaign.

Amitabh Bachchan along with wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya donated Rs. 25 Lakh to Girl-Child Programme. The amount was received by Nihalani, chairperson of Plan India Board, and Bhagyashri Dengle, executive director of the body.

The donation was generated from sales of the book “B 70″. Last year, on his 70th birthday Jaya Bachchan brought out the book “B 70″ which features paintings of 70 prominent artists in India. Additional profits from the sale of the book will also be donated to the charity organization.

Amitach Bachchan tweeted: “Normally do not announce charity, but this issue was important keeping recent happenings against women!! This amount of Rs. 25 lakhs given to representative, and further sales will also go to this institution, who work for girl child!!”

Aishwarya Rai has not signed a new movie yet but she is obviously stepping more often into the public and doing brand endorsement shootings. However, her evenings are reserved exclusively for her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

There are reports that Aishwarya Rai’s evenings from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM are exclusively for her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. These times are not negotiable. Aaradhya is now one-year-old and has already begun to run around.
